Are Manufacturing Jobs Really Available in the Dayton Region?

By Steve Staub (Staub Manufacturing Solutions)

MadeInDaytonBLOG.com is launching a major Manufacturers Employment Survey and we need your help!

Survey says… we’ll we’re not sure what the survey says yet… we need your help to fill it out!  OK, let’s back up a bit.  We know a couple of facts. Fact 1: everyone that we talk to says that they are hiring and having trouble finding people.  Fact 2: there are over 2,400 manufacturing companies in the 14 county Dayton region that may be experiencing the same issue of finding people.

So, MadeInDaytonBLOG.com is conducting a survey to discover just how many jobs really are available, the types of jobs they are, and what these jobs pay. The purpose of this survey is to get some hard facts to back up what we keep hearing.  These results will be shared with our readers, the news media, community stakeholders, trade organizations and our lawmakers.

To participate, simply follow this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/H2DYKVL

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO SPREAD THE WORD!  Please e-mail all of your contacts to participate in this survey. Also post a link to this survey on LinkedIn and on your Facebook page if you have one!  Send this to any organizations that you belong to and ask them to share it with their membership and all of their contacts.  We can reach all of the manufacturing companies in our region with your help!  Are you willing to help in this effort to make our industry stronger?

This survey will be open starting today for two weeks only.  I don’t know about you, but I am anxious to see these numbers!  Thanks again for your help spreading the word!

We would also like to thank our friends at the DRMA, the SME and other fine organizations around the region for their support and for helping spread the word about this survey.

Editors Note: Due to the importance of this survey, the Editorial Department at MadeInDaytonBLOG.com has decided to hold this article in the lead position for one week. We will resume our normal publishing schedule on Wednesday, May 9th. Thank you for your support.  - The MadeInDaytonBLOG.com Crew

  1. I like your survey, but it asks for my contact information. What will be done with my contact information, can it remain confidential?

Yes, we only ask for this information so that we can verify whom responded, and to make sure that only one person from a company responds. The information will be kept in the upmost confidence. MadeInDaytonBLOG.com will only share the results of the survey, and not the individual responses. Thanks for asking!

  2. I work in the recruiting world and soley support the Dayton region for skilled trades and engineering. Advice to employers, start a training program and take what you can find! Candidates we submit to any customer have several options as many companies are looking for the same skill sets. The "perfect" candidate does not exsist anymore!
